December 2015
What a great turnout we had again this month!
December is always a tricky month, with so much going on, so it was wonderful to see such a healthy number of singers who were up for fun and happy to take a break from Christmas stress.
The link to Chris's recording is below, together with links to versions of Kolo Kolola and Byla Cesta.

Them Mushrooms - Kolo kolola
Byla Cesta
Our next session is 16th January and it will be lovely to see you all, well-rested after your Christmas break !!? when we can leave the carols and seasonal songs behind and concentrate on the new year ahead, with some wonderful songs from around the world.
All that is left now, is for me to wish you all, from "us" a very Merry Christmas, doing whatever makes you happy and we look forward to singing with you in 2016.

Singing on Saturday - Don't be late!
Hello Everyone,
Christmas is around the corner and I just wanted to remind you that our last SingWiv of the 2015 is THIS SATURDAY 5th December at 2.00. I can't wait. We had such a blast last month.
Come and relax before the madness of the season descends. it will be lovely to see you all and expect to sing some lovely songs from around the globe (but definitely not Jingle Bells).
I also need to tell you that there is currently a road diversion in place in Wivenhoe, which will continue until next March, which prevents you entering Wivenhoe past the entrance to the University. The official diversion is through Arlesford, but there are other alternatives such as Keelars Lane. Turn left at the traffic lights towards Brightlingsea and either follow the full diversion through Arlesford or take the third turning on the right down Keelars Lane, then right at the end. Both routes bring you into Wivenhoe at the bottom of Rectory Hill.
At present Elmstead Road, down by the Football Club is still open right through, but I don't know how long this will still be the case. Either way, please allow plenty of time to get to the Scout Hall. Trains and buses are not currently affected.
It really is not too much of a problem at present. It can be a bit tricky if you decide to cut through the housing estate at the back of Vine Parade - lots of parked cars to contend with, but speaking as someone who has to get in and out of Wivenhoe several times a day, its not too bad.
If you want to look at a map of the diversion you can find one on Chris Rowbury's website. I couldn't persuade my computer to copy the link.
Do come and share in a bit of pre-Christmas fun and bring a friend or two.

Please arrive early enough to book in, so that we can start promptly at 2.00 and take advantage of our full session.

October 2015 songs for your delectation.
Wow! What a session. Great number, great songs and really great singing. Well done all and thank you Chris.
We sang a Russian song in Greek (Did you get in touch with your inner Russian? ), a favourite South African coming of age song and a Negro Spiritual that just has to be my favourite of this session."Oh Freedom". It is positively lush!
Here is the proof - a link to the recordings.
Enjoy! We look forward to seeing you all again next month on 7th November.

What a blast we had at our September SingWiv. Chris certainly doesn't believe in easing us in gently after our summer break, does he?
We did really well and here is the proof! September songs

a youtube clip of the Mbuti Pygmies of the Ituri rainforest.

We look forward to seeing you all again on October 10th, same time same place and there's room for more, so bring a friend or two.
